In my effort to make a entirely homemade Christmas tree this year here is a project that i think is pretty cute.
Baby socks are the best for fitting around smal ball ornaments just cut the top and glue around. Make sure to use a good strong glue like Gorilla Glue so that the sock stays put.
I decided to wrap some old ball ornaments with yarn that I had lying around. Just use the ornament dab some glue and start rolling. Make sure to use a thick bunch of strands in the same color to get a uniform look. I'm going to add toothpicks in an "x" pattern to simulate the needles. I think i love them! I also found these cute ornaments from anthropologie that i am going to try to re-create.
